Riccardo Benfatto
ACTOR / CREATOR / TRAINER
Actor, graduate in Performing Arts from the University of Bologna, Italy. From 2014 to 2016, he trained at TNT – Atalaya. He studied Commedia dell’Arte under the masters Claudia Contin Arlecchino, Ferruccio Merisi and Michele Monetta. He teaches theatre and Commedia dell’Arte courses in Italy, Spain and Portugal. He is dedicated to social theatre, running inclusive theatre courses for people with disabilities. In 2011, he founded the inclusive theatre company Magnifico Teatrino Errante, and from 2007 to 2011 he was part of the company Gli amici di Luca, which features actors who have recovered from a coma. In 2017 and 2019, he worked as an assistant director on the staged recital Vivica & Viardot, and as an actor in Samson and Delilah and The Pretend Deaf Man, directed by Paco Azorín; in 2018, he took part in Atalaya’s production of Marat/Sade as an understudy. In 2020, he starred in El hermano de Sancho, directed by Lander Iglesias. He is the founder of Hilo Rojo Teatro and has taken part in all the company’s productions. He has participated in the European community theatre and social inclusion projects led by the TNT Centre in Seville: Río sin fronteras and Mundo Magallanes.
