CREATIVITY EXERCISES

CREATIVITY EXERCISES

CREATIVITY EXERCISES is an activity designed to encourage reading. It is an interactive and participatory storytelling session that teaches participants how to create stories using the techniques employed by the children’s author Gianni Rodari in “The Grammar of Fantasy”. It is based on Gianni Rodari’s “Stories Over the Phone”. With live violin and accordion accompaniment.

The project was created with the aim of providing participants with a dynamic, interactive and effective educational tool to develop, across the curriculum, the skills listed in the section ‘LOMSE skills to be developed’, and specifically the skills of linguistic communication and cultural awareness and expression, through the medium of ‘storytelling’. This project offers an opportunity to benefit from a cultural and educational activity, an introduction to reading and theatre, in a safe and enjoyable way. The value that culture and the sharing of the theatrical experience hold for the cognitive, emotional and social development of children, combined with the importance of working and creating collectively at this particularly delicate time for social relations and the care of emotional and psychological wellbeing, is the driving force behind the “Creativity Exercises” project.
