PANTAGRUEL ASSOCIATION
The Pantagruel Cultural Association was founded in Seville in 2022 following years of work in the field of theatre training with both vulnerable and non-vulnerable groups, with the aim of developing training and educational projects and organising cultural, social and performing arts events. The Association is registered in the National Register of Associations and carries out its projects both nationally and internationally.
Pantagruel operates in the following areas:
Training
One of our main objectives is training in the performing arts. We organise workshops, courses and masterclasses aimed at a diverse audience: children, young people and adults, with a particular focus on older people and vulnerable groups at risk of social exclusion.
Theatre
The artistic core of the Association is the theatre company Hilo Rojo Teatro, founded in Seville in 2016 by Riccardo Benfatto and Giulia Esposito. The company engages in daily experimentation with the languages of contemporary theatre and the music applied to it, also drawing on the codes of the grotesque and the Commedia dell’Arte. Hilo Rojo Teatro performs nationally and internationally, collaborating with foreign theatre groups and national artists.
Social
The Association carries out part of its educational and creative projects in the social sphere, working with groups of people at risk of exclusion, such as the Proyecto Hormiga, an inclusive theatre workshop comprising people with disabilities, students from the ESAD and the faculties of Education and Social Sciences; or the Laboratorio Viva, which focuses on the recovery and transmission of historical memory through the language of theatre, bringing together young sixth-form students and senior citizens.
