COMMEDIA DELL'ARTE
The workshop covers:
– An introduction to and study of the nine main characters (Zanni, Pantalone, Balanzone, Arlecchino, Brighella, Nobili, Capitano, Servetta, Pulcinella) through the physical construction of each one.
– Practice in papier-mâché mask-making using the ‘mask-beating’ technique.
– Introduction to elements of stage action and rhythm through lazzi and canovacci.
– Development of the vocal and physical language of the grotesque.
